Getting Crafty

I'm getting the "nesting" itch but I have nothing to "nest" and I'm going crazy. Luckily we found out we are doing our final walk-through Aug. 14 and should get our keys Aug. 21 so then the nesting can begin....for a few days at least!

Thad and I went shopping yesterday and saw these really cute frames and I wanted some but they were just too expensive. I thought to myself, "I can do that!", so I dragged my poor pregnant body through the heat to Michael's and Joann and got the things that I needed. I came up with these 4 frames and I love them. The polka dot one has a little more work with embellishments to be done for baby boy's room but I am very happy with what I came up with. My new project has come to my rescue! Since I can't "nest" I can at least make cute things for my house! I have a little bit of perfecting to do though since I can't seem to get the paper to lay perfectly smooth and it gets a little bubbly. Anyone know how to solve the bubbles? It was fun to have a new project and something to do other than vege on the couch, although my back is paying for it.

Because I haven't blogged in a while...

...I had major catch up to do. Since we have been home we have been busy. We went out to see the house today and it is looking great! Its finally painted, cabinets are up, granite is in, tile is laid and light fixtures, toilets and bath fixtures are all in. We are SOOOO excited to get in the house! I am 34 weeks today and the plan is to deliver at 39 weeks so 5 weeks left, woo hoo!! Or not....I'm really scared to have 3 kids! Not much of an update, I know, but its late and I'm tired!

spaghetti dinner...I think Carly enjoyed herself!

Idaho

We got home from San Diego late on thursday night and headed to Idaho (without Thad) on Saturday morning. Friday Carly was still feeling really icky...lethargic, pale, not eating...but there were no Dr's offices open because it was July 3 so we ended up taking her to the ER to get checked out. They wanted to do a catheter and IV but I wouldn't let them and it turned out she had a nasty case of the flu. So off to Idaho we went loaded up with tylenol, mortin and a baby with the flu. We spent the 4th of July with my parents in Idaho Falls and watched the fireworks.
We made it to the cabin on sunday and spent a week there. The cabin was a little busy so we bunked up with my mom and dad in their room. We went to Yellowstone and saw Old Faithful, kayaked Cliff Lake, rafted/kayaked Box River, Cayson played with the big boys, went to Playmill and spent a lot of time playing outside at the cabin.

My dad took Cayson out on a quad ride the night before we had to leave and Cayson came home with a bouquet of wild flowers for me.
Saturday we went to Bear World with Becky and the girls. Cayson had a great time playing and going on the rides with his cousins. Carly was very tired and quite grumpy so we took a nap in the truck and missed out on the festivities.

We spent one afternoon at the park where we had a picnic lunch and the kids played on the waterslides. It was cold outside and the wind was blowing but somehow they still wanted to play in the water. I was able to see my friend Cara who I hadn't seen 5 years. She is due with her 2nd in October(?) so it was fun to be together prego. Idaho was a blast but it was great to get back home to see my wonderful hubby, who we greatly missed!

(here I am in all my 32 weeks pregnant glory....ick!)

San Diego

We got to go to San Diego for 3 days at the beginning of July and stayed at a nice little hotel on Mission Bay. We went to the San Diego Zoo the first day which just KILLED my feet for the rest of the trip. Why is that zoo full of mountains to climb? We spent some time at Mission Beach and ate at Joe's Crab Shack which is possibly the best place for crab in the world! Day two brought us to Sea World where I think we spent 7 LONG hours. After a little nap we once again headed back to Mission Beach and after walking around for almost an hour trying to find somewhere to eat, we found ourselves back at Joe's. YUM!!! Day 3, Carly was sick, Cayson played at the beach and we headed home. After a very vicious round of vomiting, choking and a good long nap we headed out. It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun!

It's the little things that are the best.........

This is Thad posting this so if it doesn't turn out right it is my first time so give me a break. I just have a quick story to tell. As we were driving home from San Diego tonight I was in the back seat with Cayson and Carly was trying to fall asleep. He wasn't able to watch a DVD so I told him he could watch Spongebob on my iPhone (and in case you didn't know he is in love with that show). So now he has my phone and I have nothing to listen to so I just sat there and watched him enjoying his show and making comments to himself about how funny he thought what just happened was. Earlier he had stolen my water bottle for a drink and it wasn't one of those small kinds you buy in large packages it was the bigger ones you buy seperately at the gas station and he had it between his legs. As he has the phone up close to his face to hear and see he takes a drink from this huge bottle of water, almost bigger then his arm, all the while continuing to watch the phone and never missing a beat. Of course, he spilled a little on himself, noticed it, and kept on watching like nothing had ever happened. Now, I know throughout a parent's time with their children they have a ton of these moments but everytime I have one it can't help me but to think of all the times when I was younger and would catch my mom just staring at me. I always thought to myself "what is she doing?" but now with an older son and a young daughter and another on the way I know exactly what she was doing. I get it from her, she probably got it from Grandmom (because I see her do it all the time with her grandchildren) and my kids will most likely do it with their kids. You gotta love it!
