Memorial Day

 Carly and "Poh-zee" laying out.
I wish we lived closer to each other, I'm sure these girls would be the best of friends!
Cayson is very concerned with his tan.
See this cute little truck tube that Burke is in? Looks safe, right?
You see where I'm going with this, I'm sure.
He continued right on over. He had his life vest on since I thought it would keep him safe if he fell out. Unfortunately when he went over the life vest and truck were working against each other, holding him under. All the adults were sitting around the pool watching the kids. I was laying out in the chair near the pool but wasn't watching. I heard my mom yell something and I looked up to see Burke's legs where his head just was. Somehow I made it into the pool before my mom and brother-in-law who were both right next to the pool. Everyone said they never saw me move so fast! I got to him and had him flipped back over all at the same time. His little lips were blue, was sputtering water and looked scared but he was alright. I gave him little loves, shed a few tears and now that the adrenaline was wearing off, the cold water finally hit and out of the pool we went!
I'm not sure who was more scared, me or Burke! Definitely one of my biggest nightmares.
I actually felt bad for Cayson. He was playing with Burke and felt responsible for him. He tried to turn him over but couldn't do it. I of course didn't think to turn and console him right after and make sure he knew it wasn't his fault. Looking back I wish I had brought him out with us. He was standing there breathing hard and trying not to cry. Today I asked him about it and he said he thought Burke was going to die. He loves Burke, even if he's a pain!

So after a long day of swimming and playing in the sun, this is what happens to two very tired babes.

Loving the weather

The weather has been PERFECT and we have been taking full advantage of it! We just finished sprucing up the back and are loving every minute of our time back there. We have to put new locks on our sliding doors to keep them inside the house! Since the weather has been so nice we have been going out in the early afternoon and again after dinner. You know, tire them out a bit before nap time and bed time! As it gets warmer we will be out less but we plan to get some water toys to keep them a bit cooler while enjoying the summer sun!
Burke- my climbing, tantrum-ing, smiling, laughing, running monkey!
--who by the way is finally saying some words...mah-mah (mom), daaa (dad), bubbo (bubble), dah (dog), ah duh (all done), moh (more)--
Carly who does anything and everything to make her little brother's life miserable! Today she pushed him off the slide, ran him over with the car, ran into him on the swing, squirted him in the face with the hose, took his bubbles...not to mention the scratching, biting and clawing that occurred before we went outside! And she's smaller than him!!!
Doodle also loves being outside running in the grass, chasing toys and catching bubbles!
Cayson, being the great big brother that he is played with the bubbles with Carly and Burke. Luckily Carly is nicer to Cayson than she is to Burke!

Burke loves water

My Burke LOVES the water. Its hard to keep him out of it...obviously!
The other day we put the little slide in the blue pool and he had such a great time. Next time I'll have to put his swim suit on him so that I can use more of the pictures without too much nudity.

Why is he in the bath tub in his pajamas? Grandpa didn't drain the bath tub. Mommy was mad. Really, really mad. I was cleaning the kitchen from dinner and grandpa gave 2 dirty kids a bath. When I didn't hear Burke I asked about him and nobody else knew where he was. I immediately knew the bath tub wasn't drained. Burke was in it. Playing. Standing up. I am glad that I could take a happy picture.
Did I mention I was really, really mad?
We were lucky. Really, really lucky.
Needless to say, I won't rely on someone else to make sure my kids are ok anymore.

Cayson's awards and last baseball game

Cayson had an awards assembly on monday. He got Honor Roll and Sunshine Spirit.
We are very proud of him for working so hard in school this year. I can't believe that tomorrow is his last day of school. He's going to be a 2nd grader!!!

His last baseball game was also on monday. He did great and grew leaps and bounds this season. We were really happy with this league and will stick with them from now on. He is getting much better at baseball and really enjoyed it. Can't wait for fall ball!

Preschool water party

Today was Carly's preschool water party. I went with her and she had a blast!
First the kids worked on puzzles. This is her "I did it!" face.

Carly had fun squirting teachers, running around in the sprinklers, playing at the water stations and being with her friends. Afterwards we all ate otter pops!
This is the best part of being a mom!
