Yes, this nasty creature greeted me at the door as I came home tonight.
Here's the play by play.
I pull into the drive way and think,
"I better be quiet so I can get Burke to bed without waking him up."
I take Carly out of her car seat and put her down then get Burke out quietly.
We walk up to the door and Carly starts to walk faster.
I see something at the bottom of the door by the door jam and realize...
THAT'S A FREAKING SPIDER. IT'S HUGE!!!
I scream, grab Carly's shoulder and drag her away while she is now screaming.
I throw her on my hip, hitting Burke's head with her big melon.
So much for putting Burke in bed without waking him up.
OK.
Thad isn't home, he is playing baseball.
Do I put the kids in the car, risk the ugly spider getting away without being killed and go wait for Thad?
OR
Go to my neighbors house and have him kill the monster spider?
Right....go get my neighbor.
Ian promptly comes over and realizes that I was NOT exaggerating and this spider is in fact HUGE!
He asks, "I'm going to smash it with this shoe. Mind if it makes a mess?"
Really, do you think I mind if there is a mess? I just want it dead!
So he hits it and THIS is what happens.

Traumatizing, I know.
My awesome neighbor ran and got bleach from his house and doused the doorway and patio.
I think he got most of them.
Most.
That means there are still babies lingering around.
I have the eebie jeebies.
Do you have the eebie jeebies?
Needless to say I am going to go get some insect spray in the morning.
Monday I WILL find someone to come spray the house.
For now I'm going to try and not think about the monster spider.
I'm going to listen to Thad quote "Billy Madison".
I hope I can sleep tonight.
(FYI. I think Thad would have pee'd his pants when the baby spiders scattered,
screamed like a girl then fainted so I think it was probably good that he wasn't home.
Sorry to throw you under the bus. I love you!)
