Picture this....

You are driving down the road around 6pm and its just starting to get dark. Your 9 month old decided to fall asleep WAY to early and will now be up late and your 4 year old is happily playing Sponge Bob on his Nintendo DS. You are coming up to a green light and just past the light coming the opposite direction you see a guy walking down the turn lane. Right after you see him, you see a car getting into that SAME turn lane. Now in your mind you say, "That car has to see that guy." And in that same moment that you see the guy, see the car.....WAM!! You realize the driver must have seen him at the last moment and luckily didn't get him straight on. You see him go over the hood of the car and then land on the ground.

Yes, this happened to me tonight. I have never seen someone get hit by a car before and let me say that I never want to see that again. I slammed on my brakes and pulled over, both kids unphazed, and fumbled with the buttons on my phone and finally managed to dial 9-1-1. The driver stopped as well as another car so I ran over to them being the only one on the phone with paramedics. I'm quite certain that he at least had a broken leg but beyond that I'm not sure. I told 9-1-1 that I had to leave since I had both of my kids in the car and as soon as I saw the ambulance I went ahead and left.

We finished up the night eating dinner at Mongolian BBQ for family night.
