I took Cayson and Carly up to Pinetop with Grandma and Grandpa Greene this past weekend while Thad stayed home and studied for school. We had a really fun weekend playing in the snow. We went up to Sunrise where there have a big sledding hill. I took Carly down once and Cayson went down 5 times all by himself. He would go really fast then start to spin at the end and somehow he never got scared. Carly didn't seem to mind the snow much except for the one time that she did a face plant in it. Cayson played with Grandpa and had a snowball fight with him. The dogs
loved the snow and would run and chase snowballs. It was Brindle's first time to the snow and it didn't slow her down at all. She leaped and pranced through the snow at top speed and had a great time. We can't wait to do it again and hopefully Thad will be able to come the next time!

This weekend was the perfect goodbye to my dear Brindle. We chose to let her live with another family due to having another baby and not knowing where exactly we will be when Thad goes to dental school. We didn't mean to find someone so quickly but through word of mouth my parents neighbor found out that we wanted to give her away. They had just lost their dogs to old age and were going to be looking for a new dog soon. They met Brindle and fell in love with her. I took two more weeks with her and then we gave her to them on Monday evening. It has been very hard not to have her here at the house and I miss her terribly. Its hard not to have her to cuddle with at night on the couch when we are watching tv. She should be at home making us happy, not with another family. I didn't expect for this to be so hard but it feels like we have lost a family member. I find myself going to the back door to let her in only to remember she isn't outside. Its going to take some getting used to and I fear some more tears. (and yes, I am crying right now just writing and thinking about it.) So here are a few pictures of Brindle. She was a great and amazing dog and friend for us. She was very loyal and loved the kids. We will miss her forever!

That looked like such a fun trip.
how sad about brindle. I know how you feel. your pets become family.
That looks like a fun trip up north! When will Thad be going to dental school?
That is sad about your dog...I hope it will get a little easier soon.
I am jealous you guys got to go play in the snow! I bet it was hard getting rid of the dog but we have two that we've had since we were married and it has been a challenge with them. I can't get rid of them because they are like my kids by now (they are older dogs,) but if they were puppies I don't think I could handle it! You will be super busy and have your hands full. Brindle will be happy in her new home for sure though!
Fun snow pictures!!
And Brindle, Eleanor will miss you terribly, too.
